SimpleInvoice ("we", "our", or "the application") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we handle information when you use our invoice creation application.

The Key Point: SimpleInvoice is a local-first application. Your invoices, client data, and settings are stored exclusively in your browser's Local Storage. We do not collect, transmit, or have access to your invoice data.

2. Data Collection

What We DO NOT Collect:

Invoice Data: Your invoices, amounts, descriptions, and financial information
Client Information: Names, addresses, emails, or contact details you enter
Company Details: Your business name, tax IDs, or registration numbers
Payment Information: Bank details, routing numbers, or payment methods
Personal Identifiers: We don't require accounts, emails, or registration

Technical Information (if applicable): If you access SimpleInvoice through a hosted website, standard web server logs may record your IP address and browser type. This is standard for all websites and is not linked to your invoice data.

3. Data Storage

All your data is stored locally using your browser's Local Storage technology:

Location: Data is stored only on your device, in your browser
Persistence: Data remains until you clear your browser data or use the delete function
Access: Only you (through your browser) can access this data
Portability: You can export all your data as a JSON file at any time

Important: Because data is stored locally, it is tied to your specific browser. If you switch browsers, devices, or clear your browser data, your invoices will not be available. We recommend using the Export feature to back up your data regularly.

4. Data Sharing

We do not share your data because we do not have access to it.

Since all invoice data is stored locally in your browser and never transmitted to our servers, there is no possibility of us sharing, selling, or transferring your invoice information to third parties.

The only way your invoice data leaves your device is:

When you export a PDF to share with clients
When you manually export your data backup (JSON file)

5. Your Rights Under GDPR

Under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), you have specific rights regarding your personal data. Because SimpleInvoice uses a local-first architecture, you already have full control:

Right to Access

All your data is already accessible to you in the application. Use the Export feature to download a complete copy.

Right to Rectification

Edit any invoice or data directly in the application at any time.

Right to Erasure

Delete individual invoices or use "Delete All Data" to remove everything permanently.

Right to Portability

Export all your data as a JSON file to move or back up your information.

Right to Restrict Processing

Since we don't process your data, this right is inherently satisfied.

Right to Object

There is no automated decision-making or profiling of your data.

6. Cookies & Tracking

SimpleInvoice uses minimal browser storage:

Local Storage: Used to save your invoices, settings, and preferences. This is essential for the application to function.
Cookie Consent Flag: A simple flag to remember that you've acknowledged this privacy notice.

We do NOT use:

Analytics or tracking cookies
Third-party cookies
Advertising or marketing trackers
Social media tracking pixels

7. Data Security

Because your data never leaves your device:

There is no risk of data breaches on our servers (we don't store your data)
Your data is as secure as your device and browser
No transmission means no interception risk

Your Responsibility: Since data is stored on your device, please ensure you keep your device secure, use strong passwords, and regularly back up your data using the Export feature.

8. Children's Privacy

SimpleInvoice is intended for business use by adults. We do not knowingly collect information from children under 16. Since we don't collect personal information at all, and all data remains local, there is no mechanism for children's data to be transmitted to us.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Any changes will be posted on this page with an updated "Last Updated" date. We encourage you to review this policy periodically.

Significant changes will be highlighted in the application to ensure you're aware of any updates.
